Food update

We are leaving Reyjkavik tomorrow. Heading south east– Down the bottom of Iceland. Tomorrow night we will spend the first of two nights in Vik.

I have enjoyed the food here so much. Every meal has been interesting, prepared well and with really good ingredients. Though I have to say the chefs here are really helped by the fact that the butter is SO GOOD. I didn’t find out if it imported or what, but omg is it good. And they do use it A LOT. Lots of clever combinations. Barley with fish. Avocado fries. Sweet baby onions with asparagus.

Tonight I ate reindeer, puffins (the cute birds with the orange beaks) and minke-whale (please don’t tell Julie Packard!!). Max had a rib eye.

Then this crazy dessert that had EVERYthing on it– honestly coffee ice cream with mascarpone, covered in hard chocolate and Carmel sauce, strawberries, raspberries, chocolate pieces and I truly think some Captain Crunch and Oreos. It was amazing. Like how Halloween candy tasted when you were a kid.

Anyhow. Now we head out to the country. I will really miss Reyjkavik, but I am excited for this next part of our trip too.

Good night.
