A huge hike

We had just an amazing day (again).

Started with last night when we met Jamie and Bob for dinner..they were at our hotel 2 nights ago and we really liked them…so we face booked to meet at a restaurant here.

They are both retired school teachers and as nice as they look.

Today we woke up and it was a perfect sunny 60 degrees. We decided to walk and walk. We started up this– which again is an “explosion crater”. Which has something to do with the steam building up, then BOOM everything goes in the air. But no lava.

This is about half way. I am out of breath and pretending to take a picture while I catch my breath.

Then we walked to this area that sounded like no big deal, but was SO cool. It was formed by steam cooling the lava..or something…as we were on the bottom of all this it give you an idea of how huge a lava flow is… I mean I know that lava flows grew this whole country..but still that is too big of idea. Seeing this was within my ability to grasp.

Then we decided to try these Hot Thermal bathes..it was better then we could image..warm,relaxing. We found a big stone to lie on in the middle and Max actually feel asleep.
