Ok. I have to be honest. I am currently drunk blogging. I will do the best I can, but probably no Icelandic names as those are hard sober. We are on this adorable fishing town
And we stopped at this lovely cafe for a drink and mussles.
And the lovely waitress who, like most of our waitresses here, are University students from Reyjavik working a summer job, poured a REALLY big glass of wine. But this so reminds both of us of Sardinea, and the mussels were our favorite food there…and …here I am now…
Last night I woke up at 1 and took this picture.

I was sleepy so it is lopsided.
In general we could come to a dead stop on any of the roads we have been on and been safe. Today we were on really deserted roads. This is me out for a stroll on our drive here.
There was this little fishing town that built this amazing church in 1985.
We think this was there old church.
Got here and this was the sign for the hotel

Inside (no lock) there was a note saying “call this number and someone will show up”. I think it is a page to a beeper because she never answered the phone. So I stepped behind the desk and took a couple of room keys and decided I liked room 304. Which I told her when she showed up. She said “how did you know which one you want?” I pretended like I didn’t understand her… They are lovely rooms. Very simple. But clean and comfortable.
Pictures of the village and harbor.
More commemorative pieces.
More Icelandic sweaters
Where we are eating tonight
Artistic photo– in my mind. There was this huge old fishing boat that we could have walked onto. These were taken with NO telephoto. I really am this close.
We will drive up to Grundafjodur tomorrow, but return here for the evening. (I am a little less tipsy!)
Love you all
