St Petersburg..day 2

Our last day with the tour group, though we will be here for two more days. It has been so amazing to travel with our guide and fellow travelers.

We drove around the city. Stopping at St Issacs Cathedral:

Here is a view from a distance And then inside…it is a Russian Orthodox Church. They don’t sit down so no pews. It is huge. My pictures don’t convey the size, but do show some of the beauty.

This is looking UP.

on our way there we stopped to see the only Synagogue in St Petersburg. It has been here since the late 1800. There was a kids program happening. It was so moving to see a vibrant Jewish community after having travel through Central and Eastern Europe where there is essentially none.

And we saw some Naval Cadets graduating. Max identified with them. The lilacs are still blooming. There are castles everywhere. And we are just happy.
