Summer of Slow Travel

Back to the Hermitage to see a bit more.

Here is the room FULL of Matisse. and that has been our experience with the Hermitage…the great staircase and the hall with the gold pillars ( 8 kilos of gold in that gilding) are usually moderately full of people, but it must all be cruise ship tours. As soon as we wandered anywhere off that circuit we were there with just the museum guard and at the most 10 other people.

I love Matisse.And here is one of my quiltsMax likes this room too. And again these are uniforms of the Imperial Army.
