I made a quick trip to the Russian Museum. They had arranged the exhibit by decade.
1890..a murdered prince (the royal family was considered holy). And a couple of princesses
Then in the early 1900’s you can see the European influence come in

But by the 1930’s there seems to be a separate identity being formed.

Then we skip up to the 1960-80. Which seems terribly bleak.

Except for this great picture
Then off to the Fabergé Museum. The Forbes family had eight of the 54 Easter eggs that Fabergé made, and decide to Tidy Up and seek them. Luckily a Russian guy bought all of them and made a Museum. Of more interest to me, he also had the most amazing collection of icons I have ever seen and displayed them well. I could live in that room happily for the rest of my life.

It has been a wonderful trip. Thank you so much for letting me share it with you.
Love Barbara
