What we have loved most is the kindness of Italian people. Whether I am holding up a line in the grocery store because I didn’t weigh my fruit, trying to pay with coin or massacring their language, they invariably act pleasant and help me out. We were fed breakfast yesterday when we showed up at our hotel at 10. I was looking for a strap for my sunscreens and people drew me maps, climbed ladders and looked in their scrap basket trying to find what I needed. Such a nice way to live, and to be around.
